In Memory of Darren Pendleton























          Darren Todd Pendleton, 42, of Lucasville, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012, at the SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth. He was born December 11, 1969, in Portsmouth, a son of Gary Dale and Linda Marie Perry Pendleton of Portsmouth. Darren was a co-owner of Pendleton Implements in Lucasville and a Northwest High School and Scioto County Joint Vocational School graduate. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Darren enjoyed his life to the fullest, and life was always an adventure for him. He loved driving his #88 dirt track bomber car at Portsmouth Raceway Park as well as other area tracks. He was a true businessman who loved to work at the business of selling trucks and cattle. Darren had a huge heart and was very generous with others and he would gladly help any person who was in need. He was deeply involved in 4-H, where he participated in the livestock auctions. He also sponsored area ball teams and many other community events. In addition to his parents, Darren is survived by his wife, Lisa Lynn Fell Pendleton, whom he married December 14, 1991, in Lucasville; two children, Brandon Todd Pendleton and Lakin Marie Pendleton, both at home; a brother, Garrett (Shawna) Pendleton of Lucasville; his maternal grandmother, Helen Perry of Portsmouth; aunts and uncles, Connie (Mike) Bice of Hilliard, Ohio, Tom (Lynn) Perry of West Portsmouth, Pat (Beth) Perry of Sciotoville, Sally (Eric) Castle of Portsmouth, Ray Pendleton of Lucasville, and Virginia (Kenneth) Horsley of West Portsmouth; his mother-in-law, Shirley Fell of Lucasville; several nephews; and many cousins. Darren was preceded in death by an uncle, Carl Pendleton; and two aunts, Susan Monteith and Nancy Bashford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. David Young officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice, 2201-25th St., Portsmouth, OH 45662.
